i finished a book yesterday called Johnny Got His Gun about a dude who is in the army and he ends up deaf, blind, and without arms, legs, nose, or mouth. he lies in the same hospital bed for years and keeps complaining (in his head) about how uncomfortable his pillow is and how nobody ever flips it over for him. there's a pillow story for you. also there was a compassionate nurse in it and she reminded me of betsy.
